ČESKÝ MOBIL COMMENTS ON ANNOUNCED RESULTS OF THE INVESTIGATION OF THE ECONOMIC COMPETITION PROTECTION AUTHORITY

03. June 2002

Český Mobil would like to make a statement based on the final decision on the investigation by the Economic Competition Protection Authority (ÚOHS) with respect to the matter of pricing discrimination for calls to the Oskar network from other mobile networks. The UOHS found that Eurotel and Radiomobil (T-Mobile) restricted competition between themselves and Cesky Mobil. While Oskar was not a direct participant in the investigations, the results will benefit Oskar customers and Czech telecommunications consumers in general. Eurotel and RadioMobil disadvantaged all mobile users in the Czech Republic by charging higher prices for phone calls to the Oskar network than for calls between Eurotel and Paegas customers. This put limits on Oskar’s growth and prevented many Czechs from fully reaping the benefits of Oskar’s customer-friendly pricing structures.

"This is good news for all Czech telecommunications consumers," Karla Stephens, Cesky Mobil’s Chief Operational Officer commented on the results of OPEC’s investigation. " It is clear that Eurotel and Radiomobil’s actions limited the benefits associated with having Oskar in the mobile market. "

Český Mobil believes, for the sake of the Czech mobile users, that Eurotel and Radiomobil will comply with the findings of the Economic Competition Protection Authority (ÚOHS) final decision and immediately stop the discriminatory pricing practices.

Cesky Mobil became the first dual-band (GSM 900/1800) network operator in the Czech Republic after being granted its license in October 1999. It launched commercial operation of its leading edge GSM network on March 1, 2000 under the brand name Oskar. By April 2002 Oskar acquired over 1,000,000 subscribers becoming one of the fastest growing third license operators in Europe! At present, Oskar is the only operator in the Czech Republic to constantly increase its market share.

Through the ClearWave holding, Český Mobil a.s. is a member of the telecommunications group of Canadian-based Telesystem International Wireless (TIW). The Company's shares are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange ("TIW") and NASDAQ ("TIWI").
