By the end of August, Vodafone will cover 60% of the population with 3G signal

By the end of August this year, Vodafone will cover 60% of the population of the Czech Republic with fast mobile internet signal. Currently, Vodafone 3G signal covers 42% of the population. Where Vodafone 3G signal is newly launched, customers can try fast mobile Internet out for the first month free. "Right now we are number two in the market in fast mobile Internet coverage and constantly accelerating. Now we are focusing on covering the districts and smaller towns," says Muriel Anton, CEO of Vodafone.

Where Vodafone 3G signal is newly launched, customers can try fast mobile Internet out for the first month free.

Vodafone runs its 3G network using the latest HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) technology from Huawei.

In addition to the 3G network, customers can use Vodafone's mobile data connection via MobilKom's CDMA network, which covers 75 percent of the population and the 2G network - EDGE, whose coverage is available to 95 percent of the population of the Czech Republic.

By the end of winter and throughout spring 2011 3G will be made available to:
