Direct Debit

Direct Debit is a convenient way to pay for Vodafone’s services. It will save you from running monthly errands to the post office or the bank. Payments for Vodafone’s services will be automatically debited to your account and credited to Vodafone’s bank account. Direct Debit payments replace the postal slips and bank transfers.

Setting up Direct Debit

You will find that you can activate the Vodafone Direct Debit payments in the blink of an eye… well, almost.

STEP 1 - Arranging Direct Debit with your bank
Just go to your bank and approve a Direct Debit to Vodafone’s bank account 117399/5400. No need to hunt high and low for a Direct Debit approval form to take to your bank. It’s right here (PDF).Would you prefer using your own bank’s forms? Fair enough. Be sure not to specify any variable or specific symbols for our bank account.

On your approval form, you must also set a Direct Debit limit. This is the maximum amount that can be withdrawn from your account. Make sure you set it high enough because if your bill is bigger than your Direct Debit limit, your bank won’t send any of the money and you could unwillingly get into debt.

STEP 2 - Activation of Direct Debit at Vodafone.
Once you have taken care of the Direct Debit at your bank, you must activate it at Vodafone. Choose whichever way is easiest for you:

If you can’t activate direct debit in our Self Care, send us the Direct Debit form (PDF) approved by your bank to the fax number 776 971 952 or to 271 171 952. Please make sure you add both your customer and your telephone number so we can associate the Direct Debit with them.

If in doubts, do not worry: we will confirm the successful activation of your Direct Debit request in our system via a text message within 24 hours.

Note 1: If you activate the Direct Debit payment of Vodafone bills and there is more than one telephone number on your customer account, you’ll activate it automatically for all of them.
Note 2: The bill should be settled through Direct Debit at least 8 days prior to the due date, to ensure that the amount will be credited to our account in time and you will avoid being in arrears.

SMS benefit

If you pay for Vodafone’s services by Direct Debit, you are eligible for 20 free SMS monthly for a selected phone number on your customer account. *

You can start using the benefit in the billing period in which the first Direct Debit payment for Vodafone’s services is made.

You can send your 20 free SMS not only within the Vodafone network, but to other networks as well. The only thing you have to bear in mind is that the offer is designed for normal SMS and cannot be used for special services such as M-Bank or SMS Dating.

Unused SMS are not carried forward into the following month.

The phone number for which the SMS benefit is activated can be changed once every 3 months. The change can be easily made free of charge in the Vodafone’s Self Care. Changes made through the Vodafone Care are subject to a fee as shown in the Vodafone price list.

* The benefit is available to all postpaid customers, except for the Write Me, I Hear You, Safe Bet, Best Return, Tailor Made Tariff and business subscribers.
