Although red is the company colour, we also know we’re very green. It is our objective not to hurt the environment, but to protect it.
Naturally, no telecommunication company can do without power. That is why we choose technology based on its power consumption and opt for the most economical options. But that’s not all. As regards power saving, our bathrooms and printer-nooks, for example, are fitted with energy-saving lamps and photocell devices, which contribute to lower consumption of electricity.
We go even further to fight proactively against global warming. A team has been established in our company and given the task to look for the ways of reducing electricity consumption in our network and develop an action plan. The action plan will be implemented in practice. Also, we organize a competition for our employee-drivers for the lowest consumption of fuel in company cars.
Nobody will probably be surprised that a company like ours produces some waste. We try to sort, and minimize production of waste. For example, we use emails instead of paper communication, as well as e-forms (travel logs, attendance, etc.). The actual produced waste is sorted by our employees in differently marked bins (plastic, paper, batteries, etc.). Sorted waste is collected by specialized firms for further processing.
Recycling is not an empty word for us. We try to recycle the network outfit (aerials, BTS structures, containers for technologies, etc.) as much as possible when they are put out of operation.
Of course all telecommunication products will sooner or later turn into a waste which needs to be disposed of in bins made especially for this purpose. Customers can also bring their old handsets, accessories or batteries to any Vodafone store and we will ensure that they are recycled or disposed of in an ecologically sound way.
Just to remind you, here are a few handy symbols to help you judge how to dispose of products bought in our stores, which you don’t find useful anymore.
