Fair Business

Brands that are trusted by people are the most successful ones. We want our customers, business partners and others to perceive us as a company that is fair and reliable.

We practice responsible marketing towards our customers. We communicate with them in a clear and open way so that they can make a fair decision based on our information. Our offers are easy to understand, transparent and free of asterisks or fine print. Communicating without trickery and taking care of new customers as well as the existing ones is part of Vodafone CZ strategy. This is apparent, for example, in our 2007 Christmas campaign entitled “It’s Good To Be Faithful”, in which Vodafone sheep offer all our customers as many months of an extra 20% credit as they have spent years with Vodafone. You may also remember our fake reindeer campaign with Petr Čtvrtníček which was in a similar vein. Needless to say that we charge calls per second after the first minute and have been doing so for a few years now.

Nowadays mobile phones can be used to access internet. Besides our own efforts for safer internet for children and youth we also collaborate with other organizations on stopping internet crime. In October 2007 a non-stop Internet Hotline was officially launched in the Czech Republic under the patronage of Our Child Foundation. It means that you too have an opportunity to fight the spreading of illegal internet content; if you come across anything unsound, you can report it to: oznamte@internethotline.cz. For more information check out the FAQs.

We develop trust-based relationships with our business partners. Vodafone CZ has thousands of suppliers. We do not choose them just by the price of their services but also by their attitudes to the environment, social standards, and other indicators of the Code of Ethical Purchasing, which has been introduced across the Vodafone Group. Supplier representatives are trained thoroughly about CEP. Also, we jointly oversee that they actually do what they are supposed to do and make sure they don’t have any problems. But above all, our focus is on joint cooperation.

As far as the construction of transceivers and base transceiver stations (BTS) goes, we also adhere to environmental standards and respective regulations. And not only that; we try to build our network in a responsible way, which is a commitment that goes beyond the legal requirements. We inform all involved parties, hold discussions with them and try to make sure that BTS affect the landscape or towns as little as possible. Due to miniaturization or imitation of the surrounding environment, we can adapt technologies to the specific environment so that they are practically invisible. That is especially the case of areas protected by the Heritage Fund, buildings in historical town centers or natural reservations.
