Once again we were excited to receive our envelope from the guys at the 2006 International Business awards (otherwise known as the Stevies). Our Learning and Growth department won the highest Best Human Resources Organisation award for their innovative in house employee training courses. We were also finalists in the Best Creative Organisation category for our recent campaigns.
Love is all around! (or All you need is love!) Last year's annual report brought us pure gold! Based on a love theme, the report survived three exhaustive competition phases and wooed a top prize out CIB judges in the Annual Report and Accounts for shareholders and employees - private sector category. So you can see, love changes everything!
We notched up another award, this time we got third place for our UNI project in the HR specialist award category from Winterthur Employer of the year 2006 . We've already started ordering masseurs from Thailand for our HR department, after all it looks like they might have to do quite a bit of overtime sifting through all those new job applications.
This time the Golden Semicolon was really precious to Vodafone. The ČILICHILI magazine swept into first place in the Best B2C magazine category. And not only did they give us an award for being great but ČILICHILI was also given a special best front page prize for being the best looking magazine.
A trophy was also presented in this years Nutcracker competition. The award answers those who wondered if Vodafone could continue to uphold the quality and wittiness found in the old Oskar advertisements. The instrument sitting on our shelf because of the Christmas campaign 'Attack of the Minutes', is made of bronze.
If you are from Prague, you'll definitely remember tram number 77, where you didn't need to pay your fare. One wagon carried you through the town free of charge while the other was stuffed to the brim full of big numbers. What was the idea behind it? Firstly - we wanted to made you smile before Christmas, and secondly we wanted to find a new way to publicise our great Christmas offer. And it worked. This tram won us a prestigious Duhový paprsek award in the mobile advertisement category of the best signmaking competition for 2005.
It seems fitting that now that her term at Vodafone has drawn to a close, Karla Stephens has won a prestigious Stevie Award for women entrepreneurs. Our Chief Operating Officer is now officially recognised as The Best Executive in Europe, the Middle East and African regions. A great way to celebrate all of her passion and hard work.
Vodafone is proud to be deemed the third (equal!) best company in the Czech Republic for equal opportunities, a position we share with PricewaterhouseCooper. This is the first such contest organized by Gender Studies o.p.s., in association with the Ministries of Industry and Trade and Labour and Social Affairs, to select the best corporate environment and structure for men and women to succeed. You go girls and boys; maybe next year we'll take the number one spot from Hewlett-Packard.

Before our ČILICHILI magazine even celebrated its 1st anniversary, the fresh lifestyle monthly had already harvested awards from around the media world. Its latest success was securing 1st place among Czech business-to-customer periodicals in the Corporate Medium of the Year 2004/2005 contest. ČiliChili left 25 company magazines behind in a tough competition organised by the Association of Dynamic Relations and GoodCom agencies, TypoDesignClub and the event's guarantor - the Chamber of PR Agencies. No wonder we were smiling when we heard the news!
This is called a hat trick! For the 3rd time in a row Oskar received the prestigious Golden LACP Vision Award for the Best Annual Report in 2004. Our annual reports topped the charts again, despite the fact that more and more entries are submitted to the contest each year. This time the jury had exactly 1,400 Annual Reports to choose from!
Oskar has once again been awarded the title Most Dynamic Company of the Year by the Czech Top 100 association. Oskar regards this award with great esteem as we consider it almost more difficult to defend a title than win it for the first time! And now that Oskar has joined the global phenomenon that is Vodafone, we believe that we'll continue this dynamic pace and remain ahead of the pack next time too.
It seems that Oskar isn't only appreciated in its home country - the rest of the world thinks it's pretty special too! Oskar scooped “the business Oscar” - the international Stevie Award in the Most Creative Company category for its 2004 “Obsessed With Coverage” campaign to promote network coverage. The New York based jury were particularly impressed with our idea to cover Prague's Nusle Bridge with red plastic foil - a move that also secured a place in the Guinness Book of Records for the longest advertisement.
Oskar's magazine ČILICHILI has won two awards in its first year! In the Golden Semicolon awards ČILICHILI won 1st place in the “Best Magazine Cover” category and 3rd place for the “Best B2C Magazine” out of 21 other highly competitive entrants.
In the prestigious Czech creative awards show Nutcracker (Louskáček), hosted by the Art Directors Club CR, Oskar snatched two more awards to add to its collection. The TV spots “Speak Your Mind” and “O” were presented with two bronze Nutcrackers. That makes a total of 20 awards from this competition alone in the last five years.
For the second consecutive year Oskar has been awarded Best Mobile Phone Operator in the Czech Republic. The survey polled www.mobilmania.cz visitors and readers of the magazine Mobility on service, selection and quality of the three mobile phone operators in the Czech Republic. The overall result: Oskar has pulled even further ahead of the competition in 2004. In total 9,785 respondents took part in the 2004 survey.
In the prestigious domestic competition Golden Stone Philips 2004, organised by the Association of Czech Advertising Agencies and Marketing Communications, Oskar received one of the main prizes for the image spot “Speak your Mind” that was used in February 2004 for our new brand image campaign.
At the 11th annual New Europe International Advertising Festival in Portorož, Slovenia, the international panel Golden Drum awarded Oskar one of the main prizes, a Golden Watch, for Best Advertising Coverage. Appropriately, the winning campaign was “Obsessed With Coverage.” Another image campaign “Speak your mind” also reached the finals.
Oskar's 2003 Annual Report won Gold at the LACP Vision Awards in San Diego. This was the second consecutive year Oskar succeeded in this category. Over 1,200 entries were submitted to the competition.
Due to its successful growth, Oskar tops the list of the Czech Republic's most significant companies. Oskar was recognized as the Most Dynamic Company, a new category of the “100 Most Significant Companies in the Czech Republic” survey organized by the CZECH TOP 100 Association. The new category was compiled based on comparison of economic indicators over the past few years.
In the 8th annual Rhodos national contest, Oskar was recognised by the general public as the company with the best image for the second consecutive year. The prize is awarded based on a public vote on www.idnes.cz. When asked “Which company on the Czech market do you think has the best image?” over 24% of all respondents in the online survey named Oskar.
Oskar has been awarded Gold in the Telephone Operators category by an expert jury panel. The contest for the Most Impressive Image is held by the Rhodos Association, comprising GfK Praha, OgilvyCID and Economia publishing house and is now in its 7th year. Companies may not enter the contest themselves - to participate, a company must be nominated by at least 30 participants in a survey of 500 randomly selected managers in companies throughout the Czech Republic.
Oskar scored another victory in a public vote for Best Company Image on the internet news server www.idnes.cz, receiving the iDnes Award. This year was the first time the prize was awarded as part of the prestigious Rhodos contest evaluating the image of leading Czech companies. A total of 2,800 people voted online.

The campaign intended to attract business customers to switch to Oskar it was recognized by Strategie magazine and scored victory in their survey called "DM Campaign Evaluation January - April 2003."

Oskar Mobil won in four out of ten categories in the Company Image Sensor opinion poll. The general public sees Oskar as the most progressive, most customer oriented and the most dynamic company with the greatest development in the Czech Republic.
